Easy MTD Release Notes

1.3 (30/04/2026)

  • Fixed an issue that caused a MATCHING_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND error to appear for certain users when trying to view a VAT return.
  • Fixed an issue that caused section icons (e.g. the icon next to "Value Added Tax") to appear corrupted.
  • Added warning text to the "Connect With HMRC" window to make it clearer about the need to use the correct VAT registration number, National Insurance number and HMRC sign-in credentials when connecting Easy MTD with HMRC.
  • Fixed an issue that displayed a "Connected With HMRC" window at the end of the connection process even when connection failed due to incorrect VAT registration number, National Insurance number or sign-in credentials being used. A "Connection With HMRC Failed" window is now displayed instead.
  • Colour coded the VAT open obligation rows to give a better indication of the status of the obligation:
    • End date has passed and Due date is not passed = White
    • End date has not passed = Light Orange
    • Due date has passed = Light Red
  • Colour coded the VAT fulfilled obligation rows to give a better indication of the status of the obligation:
    • Received date is not past the Due date = Light Green
    • Received date is past the Due date = Light Red
  • The selected row in a grid is now a darker variant of the actual row colour instead of always grey.
  • A pop-up menu now appears when any grid is right-clicked. The pop-menu shows two options: "Copy selected row" and if there is more than one row, "Copy all rows". Depending on what option is selected, the applicable data is copied to the Windows clipboard after which it can be pasted into a document.
  • The "Action" column title of grids is now centered to match the orientation of the links it contains.

1.2 (26/04/2026)

  • Fixed an issue that prevented open and fulfilled VAT obligations from appearing on the Obligations page if the month or year specified in the VAT Information panel was different to the current month or year.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a "CLIENT_OR_AGENT_NOT_AUTHORISED" error window to appear instead of the "Not Connected With HMRC" window.

1.1 (22/04/2026)

  • Fixed an issue that caused an "External Exception" error when Easy MTD was used on Windows 7 and Windows 8.
  • Fixed an issue that caused an "Access Violation" error when the Penalties page was opened.
  • Code signed the uninstaller so it now states "Fly Software Ltd" instead of "Unknown" when run, and also applied the Easy MTD logo.
